Paul papadonis
south shore leader | board member

Paul is a resident of Scituate, MA and has been surfing on Cape Cod for 50 years. This past summer was the first time he elected not surf on the Cape. The Great White Shark had become a major concern for him as well as all of his friends, family and extended family, who all recreate in the Cape waters. A couple years ago, he started hearing of confirmed  shark sightings, including encounters on the south shore. The event that drove him to CCOC happened a couple of summers ago. After getting out of the water from a surf session, he saw a ten foot Great White Shark strung up on the docks in Scituate Harbor. Later, he found out the fish had been caught off of Minot Light........Yikes! Paul is a retired art educator with a lot of experience in leading high school youth. He has and will continue to bring his creative ideas to the CCOC board. He is also working to grow and spread the CCOC message and practices onto the South South Shore of Massachusetts. He wanted to join the board, because he could not stand by and see the ocean that we have all recreated in for years become off limits to young and old as well as our future generations. He is honored to be a integral part of this wonderful group.
Cape Cod Ocean Community (CCOC) does not assume any responsibility for the safety of any person or persons relying on any alternative, method, or technology for shark surveillance, deterrence, or detection in or around the ocean. Sharks can be dangerous and unpredictable. Recreating in the ocean is always at your own personal risk.
