Pat DeFrancesco
Pat and his wife Maryellen’s affection for Cape Cod and the quaint town of Wellfleet began over 50 years ago. There existed a long, winding, sandy path leading through pine trees and uneven footing toward magnificent sunsets and spectacular endless dark blue water that faded into the distant horizon. This jagged clearing along the Atlantic – Old Wharf Road - is where they vacationed.
As the family grew, they decided to find a parcel of land of their own to build their home. They have been Wellfleet property owners for the past 35 years. Pat is the father of 4 children who all grew up loving the Wellfleet beaches and enjoying swimming, body surfing, boogie boarding among many other ocean recreational activities. Wellfleet and its beaches were a place where young children could play, laugh, swim and rough house. It was a place to dream.
Pat has offered his assistance to help the Cape Cod Ocean Community to organize, research, analyze, advocate, fund raise or anything else that he can do to try to ensure that his grandchildren can take pleasure in all of the safe, fun-loving experiences that the Cape Cod beaches have to offer and that he and his children have been so fortunate to have enjoyed.
He is very much interested and passionate about doing whatever he can to help the CCOC and its efforts to improve beach safety, co-exist with the Sharks and maintain the well-being of Cape Cod Tourism, Property values and The Cape’s overall economy.
Pat retired after being employed for over 40 years in the Insurance Industry with extensive financial services, accounting, analytical, consulting and project management experience. He maintained a variety of management positions in the areas of Financial Reporting, International Accounting, Organization Development and most recently Customer Relations.
